Summer Protection

Someone tell me that global warming is not a thing. I walked outside and I swear my thighs were on fire and it wasn’t due to the friction. During the Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall, we need to protect ourselves from the strength of the sun. Here are some easy ways to keep that skin protected and hydrated.

The Definition of Cool: A hat and glasses serve as both a fashion statement and skin protection. Lightweight clothing, hydration in the form of water, and good SPF. While Healed Body balm alone does not work as sunscreen, it does work as an additive layer with your existing sunscreen, while keeping your skin hydrated."

When it comes to staying cool and protecting your skin, a hat and sunglasses are not only fashion-forward but also practical accessories. A wide-brimmed hat provides shade for your face, neck, and shoulders, shielding them from direct sunlight. Combine it with a stylish pair of sunglasses, and you'll not only look cool but also protect your eyes and the delicate skin around them from UV damage.

Choosing lightweight and breathable clothing is another key to staying cool in the summer while also safeguarding your skin. Opt for loose-fitting garments made from natural, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen. These materials allow air to circulate, keeping you comfortable and helping to prevent overheating and excessive sweating, which can contribute to skin irritation.

Hydration is crucial, both internally and externally. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated and maintain optimal skin health. Water helps flush out toxins and keeps your skin looking plump and radiant. Additionally, consider using a moisturizing sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Remember to reapply sunscreen every two hours, especially if you're spending prolonged periods outdoors.

While Healed Body Balm does not replace sunscreen, it can be used as an additional layer of hydration and protection. Apply your regular sunscreen first and then use Healed Body balm as a moisturizing layer on top. The balm helps to lock in moisture, nourish your skin, and provide a soothing effect. Together with your sunscreen, it forms a powerful combination to keep your skin hydrated and protected throughout the day.

By incorporating these elements into your summer routine, you can stay cool, and fashionable, and safeguard your skin from the harmful effects of the sun. Remember, staying hydrated, using sunscreen, and embracing stylish accessories like hats and sunglasses are the true definition of cool. So, keep it cool, stay protected, and enjoy the summer with confidence!

Umbrellas are not just for rainy days; they can be a fashion statement and a clever way to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. Parasols, or sun umbrellas, are making a comeback as a trendy and practical accessory. Think of them as a portable shade that not only shields you from the sun but also adds a touch of elegance to your summer look.

Rocking an umbrella on a sunny day is like applying SPF50 to your entire body. It provides a physical barrier between you and the sun, reducing your direct exposure to UV rays. By creating your own personal shade, you give your skin a break from direct sunlight and help prevent sunburn, premature aging, and the risk of skin cancer.

Not only are parasols functional, but they can also elevate your style game. Choose a parasol in a vibrant color, a unique pattern, or a classic design that compliments your outfit. Embrace your inner fashionista and make a statement while protecting your skin.

Pair your parasol with a stylish pair of sunglasses, and you'll have everyone wondering who you are. Channel your inner Eartha Kitt and respond to the curious gazes with a confident and playful attitude. Enjoy the admiration and feel marvelous, dahling!

Remember, using a parasol doesn't mean you can skip other sun protection measures. It should be used in combination with other strategies such as wearing sunscreen, seeking shade, and wearing protective clothing.

So, next time you step out into the sun, unleash your inner fashionista, embrace the parasol trend, and give your skin the shade and protection it deserves. Stay stylish, stay protected, and keep them guessing with your fabulous umbrella!

Exfoliate: One unexpected way to protect and care for your skin during the summer is through exfoliation. There are two types of exfoliation: physical and chemical. Physical exfoliation involves using a scrub or brush to create friction on the skin's surface, removing dead skin cells and allowing the fresh, hydrated skin underneath to emerge. Our Healed Body scrub is a physical exfoliator that helps facilitate this process. On the other hand, chemical exfoliation involves the use of ingredients like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) to dissolve dead skin cells and promote skin cell turnover.

Exfoliation is beneficial because it supports the natural turnover process that occurs approximately every 28 days. By removing dead skin cells, exfoliation reveals a smoother and allows for better absorption of the product. It also helps to unclog pores and prevent the buildup of dirt, oil, and sweat that can lead to breakouts and congestion. During the summer, when sweat and sunscreen can accumulate on the skin, exfoliation becomes even more important in keeping the skin fresh and clean.

To enhance the benefits of exfoliation, you can incorporate dry brushing into your routine before showering. Dry brushing involves using a natural bristle brush to gently massage your skin in upward strokes. This technique promotes lymphatic drainage, helping to improve circulation, reduce the appearance of cellulite, and support overall detoxification. Dry brushing can be especially invigorating in the morning and can contribute to improved immunity and full-body circulation.

When exfoliating, remember to be gentle and avoid over-exfoliation, as this can cause irritation and sensitivity. Start by exfoliating once or twice a week and adjust the frequency based on your skin's response. Additionally, always moisturize your skin after exfoliation to keep it hydrated and protected.

By incorporating regular exfoliation into your skincare routine, you can help your skin stay refreshed, improve its texture, and support its natural renewal process. Enjoy the benefits of exfoliation and give your skin the care it deserves this summer!
